FREDDY
(Timothy Brickley, David Rheins & Scott Sanders)
Hit eject
and move on down the road.
Meathead's already moved in,
he's out in the backyard in the cold.
My neighbor knows everything,
they point me out his truck.
I just came to get the VCR
and the damn rewind button's stuck, ain't that a shame.
There's a big moon rising
in the marshy, copper sky.
The plan has fell in
and you're too tired to cry.
The baby don't know nothing
but the nine-year-old knows the score,
She says, Freddy,
he don't live here anymore.
It started out on fire.
ended up one in the oven.
Ain't a right reason, they all said,
seemed pretty good at the time.
Not much in common,
just the choices that we made
But ain't it the same for everyone,
all we got is the plans we lay.
There's a big moon rising
in the marshy, copper sky.
The plan has fell in
and you're too tired to cry.
The baby don't know nothing
but the nine-year-old knows the score,
She says, Freddy,
he don't live here anymore.
She calls about the insurance,
I call my lawyer friend,
who married us just a little bit,
just a little bit way back when.
I'm gonna get Marie on Sunday,
and buy her a new bathing suit,
some crayons and a coloring book,
a picture and a frame.
Now I'm in the attic apartment
of my new-found lovely friend.
She says she's leaving her husband,
the moon shines in her face and
reminds me I'm living.
Jack, I'm living again.
Ain't no answers, ain't no problems
just matters to attend.
There's a big moon rising
in the marshy, copper sky.
The roof has fell in
and you're blinded by the sky.
I don't know nothing
but I feel something that's for sure.
Freddy,
he don't live here anymore.
